I am trying to train for a race coming up in March. So, instead of running on a treadmill or (because I am so cheap) going to the gym, I have been running on the road in front of my house. Don’t worry. I live in the country and the only people who come by are Andy and Barney to check on Aunt B. So, it’s all good. Promise.
Now to catch ya up on how things roll here in my neck of the woods, EVERYONE waves at EVERYONE. I think I am starting to get carpal tunnel. No lie. It’s one of the first things I noticed when I moved here. EVERYONE waves. Don’t get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with that and I am proud to say that I live in a friendly county. There’s just a whole lot of wavin’ going on!!
Back to the running.
On occasion, we do have a few sight-seers that go down our road. As I am running, to keep tradition both coming and going parties wave. After they pass, I always wonder what they think. To be honest, I have had a couple of people stop to see if I locked my keys in my house, if I needed a ride somewhere, etc. I told ya.– Friendly and nice people! But do I look as cool as I think I do?
Of course, I think I look like this:
Honestly? I think it’s a safe to say that I am a little more awkward. The girl in the picture is not wiping snot from her nose and carrying an oxygen tank. Good for her tho!
What brought all of this to my attention was the new Volkswagen commercial. It totally cracks me up each and every time I see it. It’s a must watch. You just know that the dad thinks he is rocking that lesson with his son. Teaching him the correct form and follow-thru. — Much like I think I am rocking those miles as I am gasping for air.
Hope you have a rockin’ weekend!!
